Our President Meeting 9th of October and General Assembly 10th & 11th of October 2020 is coming closer and we are in the middle of our preparation. Due the situation of COVID-19 we have to face the reality and need to take difficult but responsible decisions for our community. Therefore, we had an intensive discussion within the ANSE board and finally had to decide to organize the upcoming President Meeting and General Assembly as an online meeting. It is a great loss that we cannot meet in person this year in Tallinn as we usually would do. The cross-border meetings are one of the core and substantial activities in our ANSE community. We feel very sorry for that.
Nevertheless, we have serious reasons for this decision: First of all, our health is the most important reason. COVID-19 also brought instable times in terms of Corona regulations and different national restrictions, which do change so quickly. We don’t know how the situation will be in October. At the same time, we cannot take the risk of a last-minute cancellation. Furthermore, at the moment only 2 people have registered for a face-to-face meeting. All these reasons directed us to our decision, which hopefully will meet your understanding. We do apologize for any inconvenience for those who have already planned or booked their journey.
In the last months we have gained a lot of experience with online meetings. In these terms, we will do our best to provide an appealing and interactive ZOOM Meeting – date and time will stay the same as announced. At the beginning of September, you will receive detailed information and all relevant materials for our online meetings.
We know that our Estonian friends have already invested a lot of thoughts and time and we honestly want to thank them for all their ideas and work. Hopefully we can meet in Estonia in the near future for another event.
Delegates and Presidents are kindly asked to register for the President Meeting or/and General Assembly until the end of August.
